I read all of the information about this product and I didn't see anything about not climbing walls if Baquacil is used. Please point where it is posted on Amazon. Otherwise it's great but climbing the walls was important!

What a real shame. This unit looked like it was a good deal, but after using it literally for one hour the power supply started blinking and the robot stopped working. Unfortunately I can not recommend buying this unit.

We bought this last fall to use this year and so far, I've been really happy. It replaced an Aquabot TR4, and compared to that, this is so much lighter and easier to use. The debris compartments just pull out, flip open the door and spray them out with the hose, pop them back in.

I saw some reviewers saying it died on them and I have to wonder if they left the control box in the sun? I did have an issue one day when the bot was in the pool all night and I went out mid afternoon to run it again. It wouldn't go on, but it was super hot outside and the box was hot. I disconnected it and brought the box in the house for an hour or so. When it was cool, I took it back outside and it worked fine. From now on, I make sure to find a shady place for the box.

Love this Bot. I actually read the review from one person that said it was the best he had in 20 years of different cleaners. I have to say I am very impressed. It picks up a lot of stuff. It climbs walls, steps, and varies in pattern. The literature says that it recognizes the patterns - similar to IRobot. Since it seems to finish in different areas of the pool, that appears to be correct.
The only downside…not enough time settings. The presets start at 48 hours. I wish you could program for every day.
The baskets (2) are decent size. The mesh is extremely fine so it picks up a ton of stuff. And the baskets are easy to clean.
If it works like this for 2-3 years, I’ll be extremely happy.

This is actually the 3rd robotic pool cleaner I have reviewed this summer, and this one is, by far, the best performer. You probably don't need this level of pool cleaner if you have an above ground, single depth pool. But if, like me, you have a typical inground pool and it gets a lot of debris in it year round, you need to invest some dough. I'm not saying this is the best choice, but it does thoroughly clean as you would expect it to at this price point.

Pros:
-Capable of consistently completely cleaning debris from pool bottom
-Filters do an excellent job of catching very fine particles, even algae
-Filters are easy to remove
-Scrubbing brush visibly removes dirt and algae

Cons:
-Filters are very hard to clean. They are made of a multiple layer, cloth-like material which, again, does an excellent job of trapping fine particles, but they actually get stuck in the fibers, on the surface. They do not come loose by spraying water from the other side. You have to mostly wash from the inside and, since there are so many nooks and crannies to the part, it takes a lot of time and effort---and water splashed on you---to get clean
-Filters seem fragile and may be hard to replace. From the start, do not use a fine hose spray and/or high pressure. The filter fabric does not look highly durable. On top of that, I did a parts search and found few sellers. If you buy this, I would recommend immediately searching for filter replacements and buying them if you can. The list price seems to be $49 each, so $100 for both, which is not out of line with other cleaners' filter replacement costs
-The scrubbing brush is in the middle. While it does a very good job, by design it does not go into the edges of the pool, so you may need to hand brush areas not reached by this cleaner. Personally, I can live with that because I think the brush in the middle actually helps pick up debris. I have always noticed with cleaners with the brush in the front, the turbulence caused by the spinning can actually push some debris away. This machine picks up more debris on each pass than any other cleaner I have used (I have used 5 over the last 15 years)
-Bad user manual. For instance, the control box has settings for Program 1,2,3, but the manual doesn't define what they are. Be prepared to search the internet for answers
-Mystery seller. Do a search and it seems like this one model, "Aquabot X4," is an orphan. On the aquabot.com website, I see no Aquabot X4, but a model "BWT B200" that appears to be the exact same thing. I also found an "Aquabot SP200" that also appears to be the same thing. Yet, this model is called "Metalix Aquabot X4" and I can find nothing about a company called "Metalix." In fact, the name is not found on the box or any inserts. No contact info is in the manual. It does use the phrase "Powered by Aquabot" so it seems to be a private label version. Not comforting, considering these complicated machines can malfunction. The Two-Year Limited/One Year Bumper-to-Bumper warranty insert says "Steward Group LLC DBA Aquabot warrants........" and to visit the aquabot.com web site. That's it. It just seems like a jungle of different companies have their fingerprints on this model and I would dread having to try to get it serviced

I am just hoping the copy I got will be reliable and durable, because it is the best robotic cleaner I have owned, so far. Hope this helps.
