The strength of Heavenly is mind boggling. How she handles enormous responsibilities for years without relying on any help, well I can't imagine how... Both Beck & Seth don't truly value the whole of her at the beginning. They all have alot to learn about themselves and each other. Secrets can devastate. Just when you think all is revealed... there's more. This book has lots of hot sexy exotic scenes and the dirty/sexy talk is impressive 😉 Highly recommend. 💖💖💖💖💖 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shayla Black and Jenna Jacob's have really out done themselves with this story. Not only did it hook me on the very first page it pissed me off when I had to put it down to get a few hours of sleep, seriously that is how engrossed I was with Heavenly's story.
There are several things that I loved about the story but I'll only touch on a few. The men in this story, Seth and Beck, not only have a true dislike for one another but when they find out they are both pursuing the same girl it really takes their feeling for one another up a notch. I LOVED the games they played in order to make sure the other didn't get to close to Heavenly in order to take her to bed. Holy cow but one of the games had me laughing so hard I had started choking on the water I was drinking in order to cool off a bit from a hot and steamy scene.
Heavenly, named perfectly, is a wonderful character not only is she extremely likable but she is a hardworking young lady that is doing everything she can to help her ailing father while working and putting herself through school in order to get her nursing license. Time for herself? Not so much but what little time she is able to get away for a bit she spends with either Dr McHottie (Beck) or the seriously Hot PI (Seth). Poor Heavenly doesn't know how to deal with her feelings for both men, especially when they dislike each other so much, I felt bad for the fact that she didn't have anyone that she could confide in other than her new friend Raine, whom you'll remember if you have read The Doms of Her Life series, (One Dom to Love is currently FREE), which I haven't yet but plan on doing soon.
Things aren't drama free for any of them, I was extremely surprised when I learned about something Beck is hiding from just about everyone. But you know what they say about A skeleton in the closet....the truth always comes out, especially at inopportune moments.
As for Heavenly she is hiding the fact that she is caring for her sick father and when Seth and Beck find out, well lets just say that really brings out the dominate side of both of them.
Seth has a few secrets of his own but we don't know all of it yet and unfortunately we will have to wait to find out.
I was not sure what to expect in reading about a relationship that involved 2 men and a woman. I was mind blown and captivated by this story by two thought provoking authors, namely Shayla Black, and Jenna Jacob.
Heavenly Young, chaste and pure in every sense of the word is left with the care of her father who has a devastating disease. Heavenly's mother abandoning her and her father when she was a teen, left her with a lifelong impression of not knowing love and believing no one will ever love her. She has ambitions to become a nurse. She volunteers at a hospital, but has to work another job to make ends meet. There she meets Dr. Ken Beckman (Beck). A man that has rules, two of them being he never involves himself with a vanilla or a virgin. Both of which Heavenly is. He is immediately drawn to her, but knows it would never work as he is a dominant and a sadist.
To make things even more complicated Seth Cooper an ex-cop turned P.I. has fallen to her charms as well. These 2 dominant men are friends, but the atmosphere turns feral between the 2 men when they both want to claim the captivating, enchanting Heavenly. There are humorous parts in this story when Beck and Seth go to great lengths to usurp the others' power to win Heavenly over.
It was fascinating and compelling to read how the dynamics of Heavenly, Seth and Beck come to terms with their true feelings and if they can come to a common ground together. I look forward to the next book in this series.
Originally read as: The Choice (Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising #1)
It feels like I have waited forever for these 3 authors, Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl to write another book together. They truly write seamlessly and you won’t know who wrote what. Now I am so thrilled to be able to read The Choice. I thought that this was the first book in a new series but, I think it is still a part of Doms of Her Life Series. And, is Heavenly Rising #1. It was great to read about the previous characters in the Doms of Her Life Series. I love that Raine, Liam & Hammer all had main parts in this book. Raine is probably the only friend that Heavenly has.
The Choice is Heavenly Young’s story. She is a nursing student, taking care of her sick father and trying to work and pay for rent, food and her fathers medications, which are astronomical.
She has attracted Dr. Ken Beckman (Beck) a “Vascular Surgeon by day and super-alpha by night.” She has also attracted Seth Cooper an ex-cop now turned private eye. These men are both members of Club Shadows. Not that they go to Shadows much in this book.
Heavenly is 23, a virgin and is an innocent. Both these Alpha’s Beck & Seth want Heavenly. And, it’s best man wins. There were some LOL moments when Seth and Beck were one upping each other. The Choice is a slow warm up as to the sexual heat in this book. But, when it finally happens it is HOT. The Choice ends in a cliffie. Not a bad one but, still a cliffhanger. I can’t wait until Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising saga: The Chase comes out in 2019. I give The Choice 4.5 stars.
And, the competition is on! Seth and Beck snipe, gripe, argue and irritate each other over Heavenly. Each one vying for her attention refusing to even entertain the thought of sharing her. She falls for them as she struggles to keep the reality of her life from them...until she can't anymore. They each date her, giving her adventures and experiences she's never had. While they try to get to know her, she successfully evades giving anything personal away by side stepping questions. After getting some heartfelt but unsolicited advice from Liam, Hammer, and Raine, the guys finally realize they have to work together because forcing Heavenly to make a choice is causing too many problems. Truths are revealed when an emergency occurs involving Heavenly's father. Both Beck and Seth are shocked by what they learn but are determined to help Heavenly out no matter how hard she tries to go It alone. Subsequently they realize that they too must be truthful and let her know about their true Dominant natures and how they will use it when they are all together.
Seth and Beck's posturing and one-upmanship antics are downright humorous. A speechless Beck... priceless! Shayla and Jenna have once again written an intensely personal and erotic romance involving three genuinely likeable characters. There are some surprising twists when Beck's backstory comes to light. There's also more to Seth's history than we've learned so far. Having to wait until 2019 for the next chapter in these three character's lives is going to be downright tough
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. Heavenly Young is a naïve young woman that knows nothing about love or being in love. with the way her mother left and her father being sick, she had to grow up really fast. She didn't get the chance to grow from a teenager to a young adult because she had to become her father's caregiver. Now she is a volunteer at the hospital, taking internet classes to become a nurse and working a night job to help pay the bills and cover her Dad's medicine. Beck and Seth were drawn to her from the moment they saw her. They haven't had feelings like this before and they each want her for themselves. So they will fight for her feelings, even play a few jokes on each other to win her over. Both men will figure out that they will have to work together to get Heavenly to see that they just want to protect her and help her. Can they work together to make that happen? Will she be able to let them in and tell them about her past? I found this story well written and I would not have known it was by three authors if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. It flows very well and is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat at times. There were a few places that dragged for me but not enough to make me stop reading. There is a big cliffhanger, so be prepared for that. I can't wait to see what happens next. And I need to go back and read Raine's books because I haven't read those yet.
I am so glad authors, Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl decided to write Heavenly's story. Their writing talents combine perfectly when telling this story. I felt so connected to Heavenly that I could identify with her feelings, concerns and happy moments. You know it's a great book when you become so immersed in the story that you feel the characters.
This is a very well-written, well-plotted and executed book. I look forward to finding out what happens next to Heavenly, Beck and Seth.
Where to start!! This is the first book in a new series by Shayla Blackand Jenna Jacob And while I won't spoil the story, there will be more than one book in this series, just like there was for "Raine Falling". Heavenly is a young nursing student and Dominants Beck and Seth are both wanting her. She's young, naïve and doesn't know much about life because of her own life is very demanding. With a sick father to take care of and working jobs to pay for everything, she has no time for a social life. The guys, Beck and Seth, just cracked me up and reminded me of little kids playing pranks to get the girl away from one another. When they realize how much it upsets her, they must find a way to work together to win her over. Things get a little crazy when the guys find out the real story about her life and what she has to do to take care of her father and wham: Dom mode is engaged! There is a lot of issues that have to be worked on and resolved but at what price to Heavenly and her father? When I started this book, I just could NOT put it down! The story just pulls you in and you can feel all the emotions, all the fears, all the madness and happiness and also the sadness. Just when you think they are going to be happy, Heavenly discovers something about one of the guys and it ends! Now, people who know me, know I can't stand cliffhangers but this is one of the very few times that I will happily wait for the next book because I know it's gonna be that good!! All I can say is just get the book. If you loved the Raine Falling series, you will LOVE this also.
