Is It Real or Imaginary?
Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2021
In this bilingual English-Spanish children's story, a little girl is afraid of a variety of animals, people, and objects on her way to the village to buy some items for her mother's baking project. She meets her grandfather early on the way home and realizes all the scary things were just her imagination. The end of the book has coloring pages of some of the “scary” things she saw along the way. The illustrations are nicely colored, and the early ones certainly look a little menacing—enough to frighten very young children, though perhaps perfect for older children around Halloween. If you have a child who is already bilingual in English and Spanish or is learning one of the languages at school, this book may be helpful and fun.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
