5.0 out of 5 starsThe fungus is amongst us!

This, the third installment of “The Spread” is a great continuation to the previous two. The beginning bits of this one are a kind of recap of the first two books, which was very welcomed since I sometimes don’t retain large patches of previous installments since I read many books from other authors in different genres between the installments. But once you are nudged and reminded, you are right back on track. One thing this author does masterfully is the way he grabs a hold of the reader and pulls them inside the pages of the book. Once inside you can easily maneuver the landscape, communicate with the characters and partake in the plot. As in all of Iain’s books the characters are well defined and the plots are complicated but easily envisioned. It’s a long break till the next book, but that’s the game we play when a piece of work is done in installment. I look forward to the next installment.
From the back cover - “
The fungus cannot be stopped. Not even by an army.
Ryan and Aaron finally reach ‘safety,’ but soon learn that there is far more at stake than just their own lives. Other people are in peril; people who will surely die without rescue. It’s time for Ryan to decide what kind of big brother he wants to be. The nightmare in Choirikell has only just begun.
If you love claustrophobic horror with a dashing of body-horror then 'The Spread' will knock your socks off.”
