Audrey had a chance to redeem herself. As a demon she just automatically accepted the fact that she was evil and would never be good. Audrey knew the Angels didn't like her and knew she would never rise to Angel status because they simply didn't believe she could ever changed.

There were only 2 celestial beings who go believed in her and that was Barakel the Angel of Lightening who was also her grandfather and Butator a new angel who was slightly autistic. Paired to work together on a mission Butator and Audrey find themselves drawn to each other. Butator was honest to a fault and since he didn't understand social clues everyone knew to take him at face value. He was the only one who looked past Audrey's outer demon to see the inner woman.

Butator's faith in her gave her strength she needed to turn things around, as well as to let go of her hurt and jealousy. Now Audrey is faced with a decision; continue to live the way she has always lived or make a conscious decision to do better and be better against the odds stacked against her.

This is the first time I have read any books from Joel Crofoot and I have not read any of the other books that go with this one. I like how the characters are and how they are developed. I look forward to reading more.

When I was introduced to Audrey, in A Series of Angels, I was hoping this sassy little demon would get her own book! So, I bet you can only imagine how thrilled I was to receive an ARC of Audrey's Rising!

Audrey suspected that the only reason she was living with the most powerful angels of all time, was because Barakel, Angel of Lightening, was her grandfather. It was either that, or the fact that they didn't trust her. She suspected the latter.

Butator and Audrey are assigned to work together. At first, he resents the intrusion, until he realizes that all she really wants is to earn his trust. The pair soon become inseparable and when they're giving a daunting task will Audrey rise to the occasion?

I highly recommend Audrey's Rising to all lovers of Paranormal Romance. This was a fast-paced un-put-down-able read!

Angels And Demons Working Together...

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Audrey's Rising, the eighth book in A Series of Angels by Joel Crofoot. I read this story as a drop-in, I have not rad any of the other books in this series. This is also my first Joel Crofoot read. I really enjoyed the read. It wasn't difficult to follow the storyline and fall into the read. The characters were emotionally developed and I absolutely loved the relationship between Audrey and Butator. The concept of demons working with angels to rise from the ranks of evil was really well executed in this story. I definitely recommend reading the series in order to maximize enjoyment of the series. Mature Readers Suggested.

I liked this story, it’s short and sweet. It’s a paranormal romance so if that’s your thing, then this is a good short read. The characters are complex and relatable at the same time. I feel like the story could have been longer and more in depth with Audreys history, but it was still good overall. There are prior books that I haven’t read in this series, so maybe one of those goes into her past, but if not I would love to read more about her past.

I enjoyed the story for what it was. The only problem I had was that it was in third person point of view versus first person point of view. I prefer first person point of view because it lets me live the life of the character. I couldn’t get in the story because of that. Overall it was decent not bad if you prefer to read in third person.
