I was captivated by this book as it is my favorite genre. I am very curious to the history of the farm, although I now have a clue regarding the old man. However this meager temptation only whets my appetite for more! Spine chilling

Disappointing from Amy Cross, who's books I usually enjoy.... It's not so much the story that disappointed me but I had to ask myself "Did anyone bother to proof-read this book at all?" - There were spelling mistakes, names being mixed up, the timeline didn't add up and the timings were all off (the 2 girls arrived at the farm at midnight, spent ages looking for dad, eventually found him, he made food, they ate & drank & conversed, eventually went to bed, then to sleep but "several hours later" when Connie woke up, it was 3 a.am.!!!) These really obvious mistakes were just so distracting

It's not often that I rate a sequel higher than the original story but, this was definitely the case here. Book 1 of the Bait series was (I thought) a bit of a mess but, Book 2 turned out to be a first class horror/ haunted house tale. It had a well crafted plot that was both creepy and scary. Can't wait to read the final chapter.
