Loved the storyline and the characters but I despise when a writer over uses wording. This is so in this book with Charlotte seemingly only gasp throughout THE ENTIRE BOOK and Misha growls, smiles in a thin line. It starts to feel like you are reading about animals behavior in the wild geesh! Then I was over the repetition of the past, Charlotte pov overkill ect. More stars if these issues could have been taken down a notch throughout the book.

This is a new author for me. I read the first book in this series and I enjoyed it but I thought it was a fluke. But after reading Dark Prince, I am sold on Jagger Cole. The story was mostly solid. There were some typos and some parts that were overly juvenile but overall I was very invested in this story.

I liked Charlotte. She was clueless about certain things but realistically most people would not have clued in to Misha’s ulterior motives or the past they shared. I liked the way she stood her ground and continued to perform well in school in the midst of her life crumbling around her. I also loved the way she took charge of her life from the beginning of the story.

Misha was also a good character. He had a lot of flaws which made him somewhat relatable. His transformation was gradual and his conflicted feelings endeared me to him.

I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

Loved this story. It was darker than I first thought it was going to be. Ilya in Savage Heir kind of made it seem like Misha’s life was easy. Like Misha had it made. I mean you find out that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Misha was abused in so many ways. By the end I was surprised Misha hadn’t killed his father sooner because Boris Tsavakova would be gone and not a sole would have known what happened.

Charlotte had some grit. Although to be able to go toe to toe with Misha you clearly had to. She was stubborn but also shy. And if Misha took things too far she told him without actually telling him. They were actually quite perfect for each other.

I wasn’t surprised to learn that Leon, Heinrich’s uncle was the snake. But I surprised to know how deep that hole was. You have to be one low a hole to sell out your own niece. Your own flesh and blood for money. The lowest of low to me. Especially since you had money and wanted for nothing.

I’m glad I’m the end all partied got exactly what they deserved.

Having read Savage Heir, I was more or less expecting the same from this book. But I never felt the connection between Charlotte and Misha like I did with Ilya and Tenley. In fact, the main connection between Charlotte and Misha was sex and using each other to accomplish something that they each needed.

The author did wrap everything up neatly with redeeming actions and that’s what made me give this book a rating of 4 stars instead of 3. And I liked the characters well enough that I’m looking forward to reading Lukas’ story.

First time reading this author. A bit teenagy, but again, they wrere 18 year olds. So it's to be expected. The only real issue I had was the initial reason Charlotte even picked Misha to include in her plan. Dont wanna give it away, so I'm saying very little. But the whole premise made little sense as to why she chose him when she really could have chosen someone else. Anyway, i did really enjoy the book.

This was a well written book. I was never bored but always eager to see what Charlotte would do to drive Misha crazy. Charlotte was a great heroine and I liked that she was strong of will. I didn’t like the final scene with Misha and his father because it didn’t fit Boris at all so that’s why I gave it 4-stars instead of 5-stars. I recommend this book.
