Angel Dust, the 11th book of the Feathers and Fire Series by Shayne Silver is brilliantly written. It is a non-stop smorgasbord feast of emotional flavors. I feel like I walked with Callie, the book’s lead, in the muck of blood and despair.
Humor was light and the story dark, the ending broke my heart. Cutting close to Biblical ideology, it was necessary for the story to make sense. It is clear to see that Silvers is picky about accurate details despite that the book is a fictional story. Characters that fly off the page, you find yourself wondering who is evil and who is not. Just to discover that all of us, as seen in this book, have a bit of both.
The book is about making the hard choices at every turn. Callie is placed in a leadership role by many fronts and she struggles to know who to trust and what action will have the largest consequence.
Trademark Silvers is evident; a story filled with drama, humor, and surprises that take your breath away. Imagery that places you in a visual array that captivates your senses. Shayne Silvers continues to amaze my mind and blow up my imagination. Despite discovering many other authors, Silvers remains to be my favorite, even though this was not my favorite of his books. But, it’s worth the read for the brilliance alone.
Another chapter in the TempleVerse. I look forward to how this will impact the other series as well as Nate and Quinn, the other two leads in the universe.
After reading Angel Dust, I feel like I need a bath to be clean again. Ii is that good.
