Great Looking & Handy

I really like how this filing case looks and it's super convenient to have in a room where I'm working such as my living room etc. However, like so many have pointed out, it's not that strong. Caution should be used against overloading it and making it too heavy. We have to keep in mind that this is a $30. plus item, not a $100. item so we can't really expect that much from it. But still, I like it very much and will be ordering a red one next. :-)

Attractive but design flaws

This is attractive, and I really wanted to love it, but there are several design flaws. The hanging file bars attach in such a flimsy way to the bag that the attachment points ripped and tore with insignificant weight in the files. I had to take a drill, make holes straight through the bag, and attach the bars with non-slip washers and longer screws. The second design flaw is that the handles are about 3 inches too short to allow this to be easily carried on a shoulder. That means you have to keep switching which hand you hold it as you’re walking because your hands get fatigued.

After four months of very gentle, intermittent use one of the rods that supports hanging files gave up because it was attached to a paperboard frame rendering the organizer unusable. I paid $34 for the organizer and when I complained to the vendor I was told "we're sorry." If the unit had been subject to heavy use I wouldn't complain but it went between two offices eight times in four months and gave up the ghost. Go to Office Depot or Staples and buy one of their totes for $16.

While the tote is decent enough for what I needed it for, like so many reviewers, I only received one metal hanger for the files which makes it useless for hanging folders. I contacted the seller and they very kindly told me I could return it. I know I'm lazy, but that's a hassle. So I'll find something else to use it for. If you're looking for a hanging file tote, keep looking.

The cardboard that secures the hanging file bars broke immediately

I was pleased with these file organizers when I opened them, however as soon as I tried to insert the metal file folder hanging bar, I realized that there is cardboard inserted in the boxes and it immediately tore and broke while trying to insert the bars. They would have been a five star purchase had there been a sturdier plastic inside or even metal. If you are using these to store traditional file folders or magazines you will be pleased with them. However if you intend to use them to store hanging files You will be disappointed with the sturdiness and probably end up using just a few late late folders. I don’t recommend these for long-term storage.

What A Shame

I wanted to love it so much, but what a disappointment. It looks great, but I noticed that the area where you hook the metal piece was torn a bit and when I tried to hook it I realized why. It’s badly executed. Nothing supports that hanging rod and it tears into the side. Please redesign for it looks great, but can’t be used.

I bought this as an organizer for work files at home so they can be easily put away. It looks nice and is sturdy enough for typical use. It came with 2 metal brackets that you could use to hang files on. They don't fit into anything and just instantly ripped the pleather they were meant to be inserted into. This will be fine for my usage but if you are planning on using it to hang files I would look for something of better quality.

Design for Hanging Folders needs work

I ordered this case because I needed it specifically for hanging folders. The case I received was very nice and works well for my storage needs. My only complaint and why I am only giving 3 starts is that the holes created for the hanging folder inserts when you put folders on them do not hold and this was the main reason I purchased it.
This is not a major issue for me as I will not be using it as a travel organizer but could be for someone who will be traveling with this case.
There needs to be an improvement on the design.

File rods tore out

The bag is very nice looking and made of a decent material. But it has become useless after a month of minimum use, as the material that holds the file rods up have no additional support. The slots tore out and now the rods are useless leaving it like a bag and not file holder.

This is such a nice-looking organizer, but it did not hold up at all. The straps are the problem. They are really too short to easily put over your shoulder and carry your files around. After less than two months of daily use, the strap broke. It's too bad because if they could lengthen and strengthen the straps, it would be the perfect product for me.
