How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsAnother great Book By Bill Webb
Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2022
This is the beginning of the story about The last Brigade Universe (LBU) and it origin. It presents the start of Operation Overtime and the main LBU characters as junior officers. This book starts at date 1995 where as the main 5 books of the LBU start in the year 2076 This book explains what happened at the beginning. A lot has occurred between 1995 and 2076. There will be many more books so please follow along on this great journey into the unknown.

I also want to thank Bill Webb for a plug into an interactive map that I created to follow what is happening visually in the main 5 books of the LBU and some of the stories in the following anthologies The map provides a book by chapter event especially the battles scenes. I used actual icons of the equipment as discussed in the book. Pls use the map and follow along while reading the 5 main books.

2.0 out of 5 starsGood story, horrible editing
Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2022
I enjoyed the story but was frequently jolted out of my enjoyment by the absolutely terrible editing (not) done on this story. Errors ranging from simple spelling mistakes to entire words missing from sentences that made it sound like someone who’s first language wasn’t English was in charge, and then simple continuity issues. Random at first, but quickly gaining in volume and frequency until there were multiple instances on the same page. Here’s an example: Something as simple as referring to Angriff’s pistols as Beretta 92FS’s and then as Rugers within the same sentence. Simple proof reading would have prevented this from happening and ruining an otherwise enjoyable foray into The Last Brigade universe.
If I was the author, I’d be embarrassed and would refuse to pay whoever was responsible for editing as it was obvious they didn’t do their job, or they chose to make changes without the author’s permission or knowledge.
And before you crack wise, I’m not an English grammar Nazi. I just don’t tolerate glaring errors that take me out of the suspension of belief and immersion into the story that I enjoy when reading a thoroughly well written novel. David Weber and Tom Clancy never had this happen on their watch.

Read most of the books in the last brigade and it was nice to see how this all started. Mr. Webb writes well researched books with a good flow and develops his characters. If someone likes military stories you will like this author.

In at the Start lays the foundation that the last Brigade universe. It helps fill in holes and firms up bits and pieces of information we have been told so far in the last Brigade universe. Can't wait for the next book to come out.

The story is worth a 5 star review, but goodness, the editing is a great example of death by autocorrect. In multiple places I lost my focus on the story by either a wrong word choice, or missing words.
Still recommended.

Lots of typos and grammar mistakes. Did no one proof read this before printing? Good otherwise.
Helps explain things in first book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stands on its own too.

Even though this fills in a lot of the back story of The Last Brigade story, it also stands on it's own while doing so. For a reader unfamiliar with the Last Brigade, this is not only entertaining but just might hook them into exploring the primary story line too. Carry On.
