Well, this is not an instalove story but rather an instasex story, at least for April who is just looking for one night stand. For Matt it is something completely different, from the first moment he knows what he wants. Forever. Matt definitely finds the right way to change her mind.
I really like that there's a bit of backstory, we get to see some of the characters, and there's at least some interaction out of bed.
Lust and steam do not fail.
The reading is simple and fast without major conflicts.
I am not very convinced by the idea of labeling the protagonist as curvy all the time, I mean she is simply a woman, as wonderful as that is. And the fact that all the time April tries to affirm and reaffirm that she accepts herself as she is, only leads to the thought that she really doesn't.
I would love a love story between a man and a woman without labels.

First, let me say I am a huge fan of Hope's book. She has a way of telling a romance that simply grabs at your instalove heart and doesn't let go. This one fell a little flat for me. It was missing something. Perhaps it was April's lack of enthusiasm for anything. She was a baker who loved to bake, but she seemed bored with it or something. Matt was down with her as soon as he saw that yellow shirt. I loved Matt's devotion to April. I pray she is a little happier when she shows up in the other books in this series.

I LOVE instalike/instalove stories!! Matt and April's story had my heart from the moment Matt saw April in the restaurant window. April thought for sure that man would get his cake and hit the road. NOT!
This book was such a true pleasure to read. No matter how short it was. I was team Matt all the way to the end. And what an ending!! Hope Ford scored a total touchdown with this book. If you like a fast paced, drama-free, pearl clutching instalove book then this is a must read. I highly highly recommend this book. Definitely worthy of 5⭐'s.

Not only is our heroine, April a plus-sized girl, like a lot of us but she’s independent and confident, as well. When Matt, a big, sturdy pro football player takes April up on her offer of a one night stand, he already knows it’ll be a heck of a lot more than one night. Sweet, steamy, swoony, I smiled through the entire story. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the Whiskey Run books!

April goes over to Jasper for a night out with friends and hopefully a one-night stand since she just misses that intimacy with someone. Especially since it has been months. Matt has gone to meet up with his teammates before he leaves back to Texas till spring training. When he gets there the line is long, he gets out of it to take a call and while he is on it the most beautiful girl, he has seen catches his eye instantly with her yellow shirt. The call he took was from a fellow teammate and friend asking for a favor if he could walk a girl to her car and it turns out its the girl with the yellow shirt. The attraction is instant and once she throws out one-night stand he is gonna do everything he can for it to be forever.

This was a quick sweet yet steamy instalove/instalust read. The chemistry was there from the start and sizzled on the pages. The story flowed well. I loved Matt being sweet yet possessive. April is so relatable and likeable. Each visit into Whiskey Run I start to wish I lived there myself. You get an HEA and epilogue. I just discovered this series from Hope Ford and now I must binge them all. Love them .
