Excellent...Time well spent!

This is my first reading by Duane Boehm but it will not be the last. Characters were well developed & getting to know them was a readers delight. I liked that the writer did not throw a lot of characters to you at once. Sometimes I don't think the writer realizes how confusing it is when they give you many people within the first few chapters of a book & then present everyone with a similar name so that you're challenged with trying to keep all of them separate while getting the story line fixed in your mind. Just attempted to read a book with those problems & finally gave up.

Good premise for a story, painfully anachronistic

I wanted to like it based on the idea. But the dialog and attitudes of the characters just seemed too often like modern day mores forced into the lives of people of another time. For that matter, I'm not sure that many real people with modern sensibilities would gush on so. Except in a really touchy-feely Hallmark movie.
I gave it an extra star since I reckon that's what he was aiming for, and he hit it.
At least one review indicated this story had more than the usual share of such, so I'll try another one. I'm just not sure the self questioning and dialog really reach the level of character development as I generally understand it to mean.
The editing was overall much better than usual for a Kindle published book, as well.
Off to find another...

It has the right amount of history, intrigue, romance, and a happy ending. I'm just hoping for a sequel. Here's hoping there's one in the making. Enjoy it, I know you certainly will.
