I read this whole book and I still canโt tell you what color the FMCโs eyes are. Iโve seen this happening more frequently in indie romances. I donโt know if that is so everyone can imagine how they look, like I picture her eyes being blue and you picture her eyes being brown. But this one was kind of different in that the FMC described the MMC as having dark, maybe black, hair and stunning green eyes. But she only mentions she has dark roots coming through when sheโs looking into a mirror. Thereโs absolutely no mention of what color her eyes are. What makes this even weirder is that they describe other people. For instance, I know Nicholas the assistant has curly brown hair and hazel eyes. I know some blondes flirted with the MMC and I know a gorgeous brunette flirted with him. But I still donโt know what the FMCโs eyes look like. As I said, Iโve seen this in other online romances, where the author describes secondary characters but never says what the leads look like.
Anyway, this is a decent love story. I especially liked the MMC. He was so clueless for so much of the book, but then he started to get a sense of humor. Unfortunately, I didnโt get a lot of great chemistry from them. In fact, I thought the MMC and his male assistant were more entertaining. The FMC is a strong, independent woman who wants to be a surgeon, and I like how sunny she is and how she gets along with her parents. In a couple of places, unfortunately, I found her to be somewhat manipulative, and I donโt think it was intentional on the authorโs part. I think that he intended for her to be very torn and miserable, but the things she said to the MMC after just knowing him a couple of days seemed unrealistic and, again, manipulative.
The intimate scenes are okay, but they arenโt frequent and they arenโt as steamy as in a lot of this subgenre. If you like Weston Parker, Iโm sure you will enjoy this, especially if you read the preceding book and liked it.
