This book validates my enjoyment of this series, despite its slow trickle of plot and romance. The promise of this series is finally delivered in this book. The family history, the new family bonds, warmth and twists continue to grow. The mysteries and rich atypical characters are as engaging as ever. The conflict of light and dark continues to add to the plot and characters. Some resolution to the slow burn romance satisfies and hopefully doesn’t end Asa’s role in the plot from here.
If you were uncertain about sticking with this series, don’t be. Just read to at least this book. Sometimes the slow starters are the best. With more than just slow burn romance and paranormal appeal to this story, this series has hope of continuing to be great too.
Five stars for a great fantasy book with punch.
