5.0 out of 5 starsA Second Chance Romance...Mine To Have...Harlow and Travis' story... (Southern Weddings Book 1)
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 3, 2023
I laughed I cried and at a certain point I wanted to say to them both just enough already. I loved that they could still be soulmates and that just like Harlow's parents, Harlow knew from the beginning that Travis was the man for her. It took them getting to point of him almost getting married to a woman that was in love with someone else for him to realize that Harlow is the one for him and the universe was screaming for him to wake up and realize it. Since I read the prequel, I know that is the story of Harlow Barnes who is in school with Travis Baker, and they immediately know that they were the ones for each other. Harlow felt like her love for Travis was like the one her parents had and was devastated when he breaks up with her at the end of college and does not give her an explanation or even have a discussion why he was breaking up with her. So when she gets an invitation to her wedding, she remembers the promise she made to him when they were in college that she would be by his side on his most important days and what is one of the most important days, I would think would be a wedding day. But when one thing after another happens on his wedding day, we know that this is not going to happen, and I was hoping for a second chance for Harlow and Travis. I truly loved this story; it was like a rom com to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I am ready to read the other stories in this series. Get this book it is definitely a good read. Check out other Natasha Madison books, I am.

Travis annoyed me for.many reasons some spoilers...

Why is the choice always her giving up everything, uprooting her life to be with him.? They have equal jobs, there should be discussion does she move with him or vice versa. It's not a one way street.
Yes he offered in the end (after saying all througho the book that it's her moving with him and leaving her life and family, never once thinking about the opposite, until the very end), but in a second he let her be the one who gives up everything
In another part he's angry she has an emergency and couldn't come to visit , hangs up on her, than after she drives half the night he's angry she can only stay half a day....
And be wasn't even the one to call of his wedding... would he not go through with the wedding if the fiance had not canceled? He says later in the book that he wouldn't have, but it wasn't clear cut. ...

4.0 out of 5 stars This author continuously outdoes herself

Mine To Hold is the second book in Madison’s new Southern Wedding series, and it seems as though this will be another instance where this author continuously outdoes herself.

I’m completely in love with the premise of this series. I can’t say I’ve ever heard of another where the series was based on weddings. A front row seat as a wedding doesn’t happen, but it’s clear Shelby wasn’t marrying the man she should have been. She and Ace were always going to end up together; it was just a matter of time.

Shelby was sweet and I adored the relationship she has with her sisters. Their personalities are so distinct, making their banter highly entertaining. Some seem to say whatever comes to mind, while others tend to think before they speak. Outspoken and shy, a little blend of opposites, one thing is abundantly clear: the love they have for one another is endless.

Ace was an effortless blend of swoony and alpha. He and Shelby had the banter that comes with knowing someone for a long time. They fit together so seamlessly, and even before they ever touched one another, it was abundantly clear that it was always meant to be the two of them.

This was exactly what I needed today. A world I could get lost in and while there were moments that pulled at my feels there weren't any sort of heavy emotions. There was entertaining banter that made me giggle, and there were some super steamy moments that kept me enthralled. For the most part, it was lighthearted, and as with all of Madison’s books, a sense of being a part of the fictional family on the pages is a comfort that will stay with you long after reading the last word.

Mine To Hold is the quintessential best friends to lovers story. An enthralling blend of intoxicating chemistry, a swoony hero, a sassy heroine, entertaining banter, sprinkles of feels, and super steamy. I can’t wait for the upcoming books in this series.

Mine to Have
Travis and Harlow
A second chance romance
If you are looking for a sweet second chance story, this is the perfect book for you.
This is part two of their story. It’s not necessary to read the earlier book, but it does fill in a lot of their story.

After reading Mine to Kiss, I really didn’t care for Travis much. I understood his thinking, and for a college senior, it probably made perfect sense at the time. He just didn’t realize the true consequences of what he had done.
Four years later, he’s moved on, sort of. A fiancée who he claims to love, a wedding he really doesn’t care about. On his wedding day when everything that can go wrong does, he’s not nearly as broken hearted as he should be. Seeing his former girlfriend show up at the wedding has shifted things in his heart.
Harlow left college with a broken heart, having had the love of her life unexpectedly dump her. She is absolutely shocked when an invitation to his upcoming wedding shows up in her mail. The last thing she wants is to watch Travis marry someone else. But she made a promise to him four years earlier. And she is a woman who keeps her word. Even if it breaks her fragile heart even further.
Once they see each other at the wedding those old feelings are right back in front of them. It doesn’t take long before they are back in each other’s arms.
But they are still left with the same problem they had in college. If they continue seeing each other, it’s going to be a long distance romance. He won’t ask her to leave her large, intrusive but loving family, and her thriving veterinary practice. And she won’t ask him to leave his family and practice. So what’s a couple in love to do?
This was a very sweet, drama free, angst free romance. Just two people who loved, lost and found each other again.
It does have a very happy ending. Dual points of view.
Two epilogues that give us a brief glimpse into their future and sets up the next book.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars a wonderful way to start off this new series

Receiving an invitation to the wedding of the ex who broke her heart years ago is a surprise, an unwelcome surprise. But Harlow made Travis a promise back then to be there with him for the best day of his life, so, that means she's going to his wedding. The wedding that isn't hers...

Seeing the ex he never got over waltz into his wedding has thrown Travis' world off its axis. Finding out his fiancée is having an allergic reaction and has left the wedding is nothing compared to seeing Harlow again, looking even more beautiful than the day he pushed her out of his life. Perhaps this is a wakeup call. Perhaps he needs to rethink his life, and realize Harlow has always been the one.

Sweet, yummy, and a bit of a gut punch - Mine to Have is a wonderful way to start off this new series. I loved reading as Harlow and Travis worked toward their second chance, having seen each other once again and realized they still loved each other. It may have been a bumpy ride, and they may have had to work through some pain left over from the past, but in the end, they made it and I loved it, loved them. I can't wait for more of this series now.

No cliffhanger
Standalone though part of a larger series
Told from both POVs
College sweethearts second chance

I stumbled upon this book and I’m glad I did. It pulled me in from the start. Harlow and Travis were college sweethearts but as they were set to graduate Travis breaks up with Harlow out of the blue. Four years later she gets an invite to his wedding crushing her all over again, but she goes anyway…only to see the craziest of events take place.

The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was that the characters seemed to be doing it more than actually talking. I never thought that would put me off, I absolutely love a steamy scene or ten lol, but these two went at it from sun up to sun down and at a point it just felt like those scenes took over the storyline.

The author did do a great job of ending the book with a bit more romance and love though.l, and it should be noted it wasn’t off putting enough for me not to pre-order the next book in the series, so definitely worth the read!

Mine to Have had me all in from the first chapter! I was intrigued, surprised and worried what the heck before I even hit chapter two! Travis and Harlow had magnetic chemistry near or far and it was awesome! By the way can I just say really Jen???? You need to read this book for the hospital, the morning after, the bbq, the cabin and the ring alone. These two have an awesome family and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. I love this cover and adore this couple! Travis & Harlow are two of my favorite vets!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun reunion

I had so much fun reading this book. From the "what else could go wrong" to "the worm". I was anticipating the bloopers more so than anything else. IJS!!!! Travis needed all the shots plus the laughs and fun in between.

Harlow was a gem but I myself can relate to what she did. I made that promise as well and am happy I don’t have to cash it in. I would definitely be objecting but maybe not because who says he is the same.

The sexy time in this book was adventurous and often. Made it even better for reading. 69's all around.

Now I am ready for Shelby story.

I must admit this author is hit or miss for me. I actually haven’t read anything new from her in awhile. The writing is always great but sometimes the story line just isn’t my thing. I am happy to say this pulled me in right away. It was steamy and while there was very little angst or drama it had the classic things you love in a 2nd chance romance. I think this will be a fun new series.
