I bought this as an additional robot vacuum, since I already have a Roomba. Being that this one also mops, I planned on using it on my main floor with hardwood and the Roomba on another floor with mostly carpet.
Pros: It’s a lot cheaper than a Roomba. It is much quieter than my Roomba. It’s obviously pretty powerful because after the first time of vacuuming, the bin was full of dirt, debris, and pet hair, even after just a few days of last being vacuumed/swept. It does a good job of going back to the home station to charge itself. It can easily be controlled with the app.
Cons: After the first time of running it to mop, I checked it a while after it had been running and noticed the floor wasn’t wet like it had been when it first started. I noticed the water bin was empty and needed refilled. I assumed I would have received a notice that it needed refilled once it emptied, but I guess not. The app does not give you a history (like Roomba does) to show you when it last ran and if the job was completed. You can schedule days and times to run, but you do not have the option to run it once you leave home. Roomba uses your phone’s location to know whether or not you are home and so when you leave, the Roomba can run while you’re gone. This one does not have that feature. I don’t know yet how well the random/auto setting really works, as to whether or not it covers all flooring or if it misses places because it doesn’t look like it has a real pattern. It literally just runs in random directions. It has other settings, but I’m not sure how well those work, yet. Lastly, I don’t know if it resumes mopping/vacuuming after it has returned to the home station to charge even if it hasn’t completed a complete job. My Roomba does, but I’m waiting to see if this one does or if it just considers that a completed job since it used all of the battery charge.
Overall, I’m pretty pleased with it’s performance. Even if the mopping feature doesn’t do all that I would like/need it to, it seems to vacuum well, especially for it’s cost.
