The story is a quick sweet little read focused on a wounded hero and his struggle to adapt. Don’t worry even being a part of Heart of a Wounded Hero series this is a stand alone story so ya don’t have had to read the other books in this series first (though ya may wanna give them a look after reading this piece).
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sworn to Secrecy: Healing Berets Series, #1 by Jade Royal is part of the multi-author Heart of a Wounded Hero series. Each book in the series will break your heart and then put it back together in it's own way. This story does that with the characters and emotion that it rolls through. This story also starts a new series by Jade Royal so that will be interesting to read what happens next with the other characters. My only issue is that the book does need another round with a good proofreader, as there are a number of errors which took me out of the story as I was reading. If these were resolved it would be a great read. Otherwise, I did enjoy the story and the characters.

I had waited for this book to become available on KU…it was one of the very few in this series that wasn’t. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment.
If you can put aside the rampant grammatical errors (misspellings, completely wrong words that go beyond being a misspelling, punctuation, run-on or awkwardly incomplete sentences), there are so many things about this story that make zero sense or are distractingly unrealistic. There are huge holes in the storyline, big things that go unexplained, lots of non-sequiturs, jaunty and awkward dialogue, and shallow characters that were impossible to connect with. And, again…SO MANY things that flat out did not make sense or were impossible to be true.
Raya's life is in jeopardy. The action and suspense in this story keeps you turning the pages. Raya is independent and strong and caring. She is a great character. Elijah is protective and honorable and a great hero. The story is interesting and emotional and deep.
