Top critical review
weak link in the series

I have read many of the books in Mimi Barbour's Undercover FBI series and enjoyed them immensely. This newest addition however was sub par. All of the previous books have had a nice balance of suspense and romance but this one was lacking in both areas.
Jennie's boyfriend disappears while they are in high school, leaving her and an unborn baby that he was unaware of. Jennie manages to raise their daughter, Lucy, with the help of her grandmother and even becomes a successful FBI agent. Lucy is now a budding reporter who stumbles upon her long lost father and confronts him, believing him to be involved with white supremacists. Kane was forced to leave town all of those years ago by his criminal family. He eventually escaped them and also became an FBI agent who works undercover. Now Lucy has the power to blow up years of undercover work.
This whole storyline just fell flat for me.
