I love Audrey Faye, especially her Ghost Mountain Series. These books are all about facing conflict and coming out on top. In Shield Bailey had to fight her innermost fears in order to finish healing herself her pack, and complete her mate bond. Since Bailey and her mate are such central figures in the series its no surprise that all there friends try to help and support they as Bailey meets her final fears.
As always this book was filled with laughter teats nd rainbows.

At last! Return to Ghost Mountain. Cautions: if you want action and suspense, this book will not supply. Also, this series does need to be read in order, starting with book one: Alpha.

My main criticism is that while the viewpoint changes often, the voice doesn't seem to change accordingly. I frequently had to page back and check whose head I was inhabiting.

I give 5 stars because I expect to read it at least 5 times. These books keep me warm while walking through painful and desperate times. I always get ideas on what to attend to in my important relationships, and ways to relate and approaches to try that are not my usual ruts.

The lessons: Listen. Kindness is not weakness. The more I share, the better off I am. Love may not be enough, but without it, nothing else is enough either. Pain plus helplessness can destroy, but I am only helpless when I try to be sufficient unto myself. Be grateful for small things done for me. Be grateful for the opportunity to do small things for others; that too is a gift.

Semi- retirement? Say it ain't so! I followed Audrey from her former life with a certain group of witches. The Ghost Mountain pack has filled in the spaces in me leftover from her writing change. She elicits such emotion with these pack stories even if I need a score card to keep track of all the players (characters). It's all worth the effort. While I await the next story , I'll go back to the beginning and relish every giggle and tear these stories bring out of me. Thanks Audrey and, please, keep writing - there are so much more I need to know about this pack. The next birth, the next mating, the next breakthrough for broken members, etc.

Rio and Bailey's story! But also Xander, Teesha, Milo, Ruby, Grady and so many others we've come to know and love.

I hurried through my first reading, trying to fit it around my work schedule, not wanting to stop and start. And it was wonderful.

Now I have time to read and savor the details. Restarting with Sentinel
as Shield starts up 3 days later.

And then I'll go back to the beginning and start from there.

This series comforts my soul. Thanks Audrey Faye.

I haven't decided if Audrey Faye is the best writer I've come across in years or if I love her series for all the emotional ups and downs. Its a cathartic experience.

Bailey's soft parts are buried deep. She's been a shield for so long, she isn't sure how to be anything else. Rio isn't a dominant but he understands putting the needs of pack first. Bailey and Rio navigate courtship landmines while several packs come together to embrace two very broken wolves.

This series of books gets better with each addition. This latest had happy, sad, reflective, commiserative, and joyful bouts of tears and emotions. The characters are a mesmerizing ensemble joining in the dance of life that has left me spellbound and anticipative of the next installment. I consider myself part of the pack, as I have studied the characters and find bits and pieces of myself scattered throughout them. I cry for them and with them. If you haven’t tried this author, do so now and start with this series. There is nothing I dislike about this entire series!! Be smart and buy them all!!
