Midnight Tempest is the ninth book in the Dungeon Singles night. It does have events that occur at the same time as the eighth book. Nora has known that Levi is her person for the past six years and has just waited her time for a chance with him. After a night better than her dreams, she’s determined to win Levi’s heart, but he’s denying what he wants. Will passion triumph objection, or will rejection be their ultimate fate?
I have to admit that this was not my favorite book in the series, but the passion that exists between Nora and Levi is seriously steamy and can’t be denied. One thing I did like was that Nora was determined and went after what she wanted. I didn’t love her methods, but I loved her tenacity and her belief in love and knowing that Levi was her one and only. Levi had some legitimate concerns, but I feel like if Nora was truly who he wanted, perhaps for years, why didn’t he go seek help earlier? When they did come together, I loved how well they seemed to fit together. Their kinks totally aligned and I liked that they could find peace in each other’s arms. I guess I just struggled reading this book, though. I would have loved to have seen more scenes of them together, connecting their lives instead of just pursuing passion. I also felt like the ending was very abrupt. Even though this book wasn’t my cup of tea, I look forward to more books from Ms. Summers.
