Another good Violet Carlyle mystery! This one involves embezzling a small orphanage. Murder follows as Violet & her friends work to figure out with proof who is stealing.
I liked the ending & look forward to reading more stories.

Majority of the book seemed to involve shopping. Someone dies on page 101. Mystery is solved on 116 and book ends on 121. This book makes a novella look big.

I really enjoyed the stories of little boy and the teddy bear, the lost little girl, the orphanage and then the murder, but the only item resolved or finished at the end of the book was the murder.
I guess I wanted to know where were they on the mystery of the lost daughter, How Ethan reacted to his belongings. I really enjoyed the small personal beside stories.

I enjoyed this little book. It had less of the repetitious internal monolog of some of the books and a nice dose of Christmas cheer (except for the murder part). However, we never find out about Hope's story, and that is a significant disappointment. Still, a nice quick read.

I am not going to go into a review of the book because if you are just beginning a series at book 38, then good luck trying to figure everything out!
A great Christmas read. It is not gory, not intense, just a great follow up in the series with more fun to come!
