"Did not know" - by Davee (MOUNT VERNON, WA, US)
Let me start off by saying I have never seen an optical cable before. I initially was disappointed that the cables would not seat properly into the optical jack. I was all set to return this item and buy a different one.
I the process of filling out the return I notice in the features description that there was a silicone nipple covering the end of the cable to protect the plug end when not attached. Once I removed it it fit as described.

Maybe for people that do not know, a simple "remove nipple before insertion" note with the product would be appropriate.

KabelDirekt (15 feet) Optical TOSLINK Digital Audio Cable - PRO Series

I purchased this cable for a home project involving the mounting of a new TV to a wall that I "remodeled" to allow for the wall mounting of the TV. I am running HDMI and TOSlink cables in the wall to connect to the TV and soundbar respectively. I wanted cables that were solid enuff to handle being run inside closed walls and that could be gently "tugged on" as needed to adjust the lengths that protrude from the wall. This TOSLINK cable fit the bill based on its description and from other reviewers. When it arrived, I was NOT disappointed. Its got a nice weight to it and the ends of the cable are both attractive and functional. ATTRACTIVE is not really a necessary trait for cables like this, especially when they are mostly behind a wall ... full review

I don't know why anyone would want a more expensive audio/video cable than Amazon Basics. They more than do the job, and the price is right.

"Buy 'em and see if you're audiophile needs have been satisfied." - by Tom Watson
Don't want to start a big argument. But I'm not convinced you can hear the difference between digital cables. These are decent quality cables, with fairly grippy connectors. Price makes them a no-brainer. Buy 'em and see if you're audiophile needs have been satisfied.

"Ivanky knocks it out of the park with this Toslink Optical Cable! Unbeatable performance at an unbeatable price! Amaizing!" - by Aries Innovations, LLC (Roundblueball, Inspace)
Ok. Let’s be honest here… I was not at all prepared for the amazing performance of this product. Ivanky knocked it out of the park with this one!

About me: I struggle to think of anyone more qualified to write this review than myself. A lifetime audio hobbyist, a Live Audio Engineer, Research and Development Engineer at CarCapsule USA, Cisco Certified Network Technician (CCNA[Icnd1]), and a Fiber Optic Specialist, where I have terminated, polished, and tested major networks like ABC, NBC, FOX, etc.

Hardware: The hardware seems very solid. Simply push it in until you feel it lock into place. The connector snaps in firmly with no excessive play and this maintains proper alignment with the light signal.

Having the dust caps tethered right to the cable was a bonus. I will invariably loose things like that if they’re not attached. Although I ... full review

"High quality product" - by Pat
Good thick cable. Gold connectors. Have had no issues with audio lag or degradation. Would definately buy again if needed. Bonus: It comes with two silicone caps that are attached to the cable with rings so if you are storing or traveling with it the connectors are protected.

"Working great with my optical switch" - by Bryan L.
I bought two of these 3 foot cables along with [[ASIN:B003C15798 4x2 Remote Control Digital Optical TOSlink Audio Fiber Optic Selector Switch Switcher Splitter]] for connecting the optical outputs of my Playstation 3 and a Dell PC to my Astro mixamp/headset for surround sound gaming.

The cables are working just fine. It took quite a bit of pressure to snap the connector into the back of the PS3 but I'm confident that the connections are solid. No issues with connectivity or quality of the signal. I'd definitely purchase these again.

I also like how the blue on the connector makes them a little different for easier identification from all the other plain black cables.

11/19/2013 - I said "I'd definitely purchase these again" and I did. I bought another one to connect my Playstation 4 to the optical switch and no issues. Great sound quality and solid connection. ... full review

"Wrong again; Surprisingly good" - by MY (Boulder, CO United States)
I didn't believe that digital cables could make a difference. Bits is bits, right? However, this FosPower cable won a shootout, carrying S/PDIF bits from a CD transport to a DAC. Music sounded lively and resolved, without harshness, and in particular: superior to other cables I tried. YMMV, but I can easily recommend this Fospower interconnect for your digital audio.

My older TV didn't have a headphone out jack- just Digital audio out for some bizzare reason. But this Digital audio converter solved the problem easily. What was nice was this package included the AC adapter and USB patch cable for power, the Digital audio patch cord to go from the TV to the converter box, -and this converter box has a handy mini-DIN headphone jack. Plug it in, plug in your headphones, ready to rock. -and very low background noise, it's a good product! Well done!

"Price/Performance Ratio of this Cable (and Brand) is Difficult to Match" - by AMG77
I am using this 2ft digital coax cable made by Mediabridge to connect an old Luxman CD player (I know, who still uses them?) to an Emotiva DAC and am very pleased with the results. I could easily have spent 10 times the amount on an "audiophile grade" cable by another manufacturer, but there is no need. Mediabridge makes great cables for a very affordable price. I use the company's HDMI cables (among many other types) with full confidence in their performance and highly recommend the Mediabridge brand.

"If you need to run optical from a macbook, this is the cable for you." - by Franklin J. Rabon (Augusta, GA)
I found this cable to be good looking, have a solid feel, durable (important for an optical cable) and well priced. I am of the belief that the only thing cables can do, especially optical cables, is cause problems. They can never improve the sound. This cable doesn't cause any problems. If you need an optical cable for a macbook, this is all you need at a price that's more than fair.

I am able to consistently get 24/196 audio to lock on with this cable, which is the mark of a well made optical cable, since the spec only officially supports up to 24/96

"Ignore Negative Reviews, these are 100% Perfect ( read why )" - by My Reviews
Ok so I have a 48" TV, it has zero audio outputs in analog only has the toslink digital output that is
for new sound systems and speakers. I have a 1992 surround sound receiver by Sharp. These two technologies are not years
but decades apart, I wont dump my Sharp simply because it has more power and options the just about anything I could find
its mint condition as well and amazing sound. So when I wanted to hook up this killer stereo setup to my TV. I was outta luck.
Outta luck until I saw AutoWT setup under 20.00. I tried wireless bluetooth at 4x the price and it wont work too much delay and no
way to adjust. So many may say go bluetooth I say umm no.
There is zero, zip nada loss in sound using a 50foot yes reading that right 50 foot RCA cord to stere. I paid all of ... full review

"Very dependable product. Finally an optical cable with firmly fitting connectors + creative solution to plastic end covers" - by George D. Meier (Irvine, CA United States)
Very dependable product. Finally an optical cable with firmly fitting connectors. Optical cable connections are notoriously iffy: connectors don't sit well and easily fall out when the cable undergoes any movement. In this regard, this cable is way above average. It's stiffer than most, thus does not readily kink. I am totally satisfied.
Ordered this cable again: this time they came with a creative solution to the perennial problem of the plastic end-covers that shield the optical core: see the attached figure. The plastic covers are tied to the cable with sleeves. Neat!

"Does the job" - by George Goldberg (Tucson, Arizona)
There is much controversy in the audiophile community over the contribution that cables make to the sound of any system. Some people say that cables are crucial and they engage in creative prose to describe how this or that cable affects the sound. Others say that, as long as the connectors, in this case the phono plugs, are securely attached and the wires have not suffered oxidation, which of course happens over time and is not a concern with new cables, all cables sound the same; and they cite blind tests where audio consumers and even experts could not tell the difference between one solid cable and another. I tend to the latter position and found these cables, and several others, to do a good job; and no, I could not tell the differences, if any, among them. Perhaps this result is caused by my electronics, or my room acoustics, ... full review
