"This book = 12 Rules (rock solid advice) + Peterson's Philosophic musings" - by Alex (New York)
Jordan Peterson is a beacon of light in this chaotic world, a psychologist whose writing combines science and common sense. One of his talents is his ability to articulate complex ideas to a wide audience. Regardless of whether you have a background in psychology or not, you will understand this book. It covers his twelve rules for life, which are intended not only as a guide for life of the individual, but as a remedy for society’s present ills. Peterson believes that the cure for society starts with curing the individual, the smallest unit of society. Peterson’s well-known advice to clean your room is a reflection of the truth that if you can’t even manage the most basic and mundane responsibilities of life, then you have no business dictating to others how to fix society.

One of the main themes of this book is: Personal change is possible. There's no doubt ... full review

"A true masterpiece- this book will change your life" - by Chris McCarthy
I will just start off by saying this is quite possibly the best book I have read and I am an avid book reader. I would give it 10 stars if I could. In addition to the life lessons that I took away from this book, the story was incredible. I was waiting for this book since I pre ordered it and in no way did it disappoint and it even exceeded my exceptions. I haven’t read all of Robin’s other work but what I have read is The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari and the Secret Letter’s of the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, both amazing books and would highly recommend those as well. I am very excited to start implementing Robin’s teachings in this book to transform my life. In addition to the book, you also have access to an app that will help you on the ... full review

"How can anyone not be interested in the octopus?" - by Shelley Isom (el cerrito, ca)
I once kept an octopus in a sea water aquarium. For the week that I kept her, she spent all her time watching every move that I made. Every night even though I piled the aquarium with plywood heaped with books and anything heavy, she would crawl out and I would find her on the rug the next morning. Thinking she was dead, I would scrape her into a dustpan and put her back in the aquarium where she would come to life -- unhappily. She had so much impact on me that by the end of the week I knew I had to put her back in the ocean. Her huge consciousness had made me feel small and stupid for trying to keep a creature that could make itself felt that way in a small aquarium. This happened in the '60's but I ... full review

"Must Read" - by Amazon Customer
Even though this is in the young adult category, it’s worthy of reading by all ages. Life isn’t fair, but a few brave souls still stand up for what is right.
"Vietnam Vet." - by P. Thackery (South Florida)
My Brother's picture is in this magazine when he was in Vietnam, so I wanted it for a keepsake. Our Vietnam Vets were greatly mistreated. I hope someday we can make it up to those who are still here and suffering from PTSD like my Brother.
"Material Girl Memory!" - by Pegret (NJ Burbs)
Picture worth the Memory for a friend. Adding to a collection of favorite artists - was happy to find this Life Magazine.
Very good shape - used but not torn. Thank you!

"Living and the dead" - by Robin
Real Life died on December 29, 1972 but a rather artificial Life was born in October, 1978 as a monthly and struggled on for a few years until May, 2000 but Time still wanted to create Life and something was produced in the test tube of publishing in 2007: an extremely thin weekly inserted into local city papers. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough ad revenue to sustain Life and that was that though over the years, since 1972, there have been many special editions to celebrate a momentous event or personality.

Those who remember the weekly, and in its best years it was selling millions each week, will enjoy this 320 page coffee table book. The five decades are further divided into years with each getting memorable photos and reproductions of spreads from the magazine with all the covers printed as thumbnails and dated. Sidebars for each year ... full review
"Great book, covers alot of topics." - by Mike Harris
The only reason I only gave 4 out of 5 is that it is very basic. Not a lot of detail, but it does cover a wide range of topics in one book. Worth the cost.
