"Baby Loves It" - by Jennifer Coward (CAMPBELL, CA, US)
Our eight month old loves this book. We have this one and the dinosaur one and he completely captivated by them! His favorite is of course the cover, but he will actively touch every page. When he sees this laying on the ground, he immediately goes for it. The rhyming is super cute too. I wish there were more to collect!

"Wonderfully Empowering Book -- A Preschool Favorite!" - by Allison (Dallas, TX)
This is a wonderfully empowering book for young children. I spent many years teaching preschool, and this was always a favorite. This is also a standard present for any 2- or 3-year-old I know. Last month, I purchased this for my friend's 2-year-old, and she asked if it was scary. I explained about how it empowers children to overcome and take control of their own fears by telling the Big Green Monster to "GO AWAY!" I read it to her son, and he kept asking for it again. Then, he started "reading" it out loud and following each page by himself. The only problem is that, prior to this book, he had been telling people to "Go away," (i.e., "Go away, Daddy!") and they were working with him to stop doing that. We used this as a teaching tool, telling him that he could tell monsters to go away but ... full review

What's not to love? Love monster is a monster who is too endearing to scare anyone. He is fun for the children to draw and the stories are relatable for them.

"Cute, sweet story!" - by Heather (Colorado)
Great book! It's so cute and silly. I give it out in lieu of birthday cards for little kiddos, and I wish more local bookstores would stock it for that reason. Sadly, none really do, so instead I buy off of Amazon.

"An improved version of "Go Away Big Green Monster"" - by errorfound482 (Walla, walla Washington)
Of all the monster books in the series, this is most like the original "Go Away Big Green Monster" (GABGM). In fact, it's practically identical but in my opinion improved and more fitting for toddlers and younger children.

Here are the improvements:
-- It's more compact and easier to hold to read one-on-one to your toddler
-- There are no "dongles" hanging out. In GABGM, my daughter has ripped out the Big Green Monster's nose several times. I've had to retape many pages repeatedly and had to buy a new one. This is designed much better, so there's nothing tempting your toddler to rip out.
-- There are stars appearing on this one (my daughter love stars)
-- This one focuses less on fear and empowerment and more on discovery and saying good night to the little monster.

If you've never read "Go Away Big Green Monster," then I would describe this book ... full review

"Great Book, not just for Halloween" - by Mel
This is one of the best books out there for young children. It basically is about getting a little monster ready for bed and going through the bedtime routine, however it is coupled with amazing illustrations and funny little quirks specific to a monster life. You could read it as a halloween story, but really it could be read at any time of year since there is no mention of halloween or trick-or-treating in the book. My son absolutely loves it because it has spiders and funny monster things that kids enjoy, and he requests it every night. The only "downside" is that the last page is a bit too cutesy for my taste, the overtone of "mommy loves you" is a bit heavy on that last page. I would definitely recommend it!

"It is a great interactive book that gets the kids laughing and interacting ..." - by Erin Richburg
As a teacher, I use this all the times with students. It is a great interactive book that gets the kids laughing and interacting with the text. It is a simple plot line and the kids beg me to read this book over and over with them. The kids love the main character, Larry. If you a re looking for a fun book that gets children interacting with the story, this is it!

"Cute but not for everyone" - by Hollie (California)
I think this is a cute book and would be incredibly awesome for kids that have various emotional or other struggles, as it shows a kid that wakes up and is having a super bad day. It’s an inner “monster” that he has trouble controlling...i.e., his bad behavior. Working with kids with various learning and emotional disabilities, I can see that this would be great for a kid who feels, at times, that they aren’t always in control of them self.

I didn’t, for myself or my kids, like it as well. I really disliked the behavior this kid demonstrated and there was no point of consequence or even saying I’m sorry. Yes, it’s a book, but for small kids books are great way of reinforcing lessons and I did t particularly agree with this being “lesson” for mine.

I thought it was nicely done.

"Fun bedtime story" - by AZ mom
Purchased for my 4 year old son. Adorable illustrations and very cute story. The monsters resist their bath and sleeping and my son thinks that is hilarious. He can definitely relate. They are not so naughty that I feel they are bad example, just a little resistant. Great bedtime story.
