"Good for light use, great value for the price." - by John M.
Work's well, really great for the price. I looked at much more expensive models but couldn't really justify the cost, as I only needed it for cutting a few sheets of 110lb cardstock and a few shipping labels a week, and I only needed to cut 1 piece at a time.

The blade is sharp and cuts straight. It has a nice little locking mechanism to keep kids from playing with it. It has very little give, but it's easy to cut with, and it's sturdy enough to stay up when you leave it in the up position. (Very important for aligning paper without fear of chopping off your fingers.)

The measurements start at the exact edge and go up to 11.5 inches, which is more than enough if you are only cutting regular sized paper. The measurements make it easy to cut exact pieces, and it cut every one of the ... full review

"Firbon A4 cutter" - by Amazon Customer
I'm a card maker, but I do cut a lot of paper. I really like this
cutter. I was skeptical of this brand because of the low price.
I needn't have worried. This cutter works as well as my more
expensive guillotine cutter. It can cut through two layers of cardstock.
The fact that it has an extended ruler is also convenient. It is light
weight and easy to move around. I have no complaints about this
cutter and I would buy it again if this one wears out.

"Wonderful! Better than it looks in picture." - by Lars Lindberg (CT)
If you want an old-style paper cutter but don't want to pay that much, this is for you.

I thought it would be flimsy and not have the satisfying and sharp cut that the old elementary school ones had--WRONG.

It's just like being back in Miss Alley's 2nd grade again. Wood top gives it heft, grid makes it accurate. If you need to cut lots of paper often, this is a great option.

"Excellent paper cutter!" - by Alyssa H.
I'm not sure why there were so many bad reviews for this paper cutter. I've been using it for all of my wedding projects and it has been nothing but excellent! I cut all of my invitations, detail cards, and RSVPs on heavy cardstock, 4 sheets at a time and it cut them like butter with one quick slice of the blade. I like the finger guard and blade locking mechanism for safety. It also has nice, clear ruler markings that make cutting more accurate. The only thing I didn't like about this paper cutter is that it is so lightweight that you have to make sure you hold it down or it can move. I just put a small paperweight on the top and bottom where my paper didn't reach and it was fine.
This is all based on my previous experiences using a paper cutter in schools and offices, ... full review

"Exceeded My Expectations" - by B. Kelley
I love this cutter! It is so much larger and heartier than I expected. It is a total bargain for the price, and cute my papers *almost* perfectly. There was a very minor angle to the cut, but that is understandable since it's on a plastic slider.

"I would recommend this paper cutter to anyone searching for one" - by E.J. Hansen (Chester County, PA)
I would recommend this paper cutter to anyone searching for one. It cuts extremely well, very precise, through lots and lots of cardstock. I own a more heavy=duty Friskars cutter, but enjoy how easy this one is to handle. I can go from cutting cardstock to designer paper and it does not miss a lick. Measurements are easy to read, and it has a little lock at the top to keep the paper bale from flopping around for safety reasons. Get one, you'll like it!

"Cuts large photo prints cleanly" - by Eye4one (Belleville, MI United States)
If you want to cut large photo prints or other art work, a 24 inch board will do the trick. For me, this need arises due to an Epson Stylus Pro 4900 - 17 inch large format photo printer.

This cutting board is made of solid wood like what I remember from school days in the 1960-70s. Heavy duty stainless steel blade and a surface with standard half inch gridlines etched into solid wood. We didn't have any safty gaurds at that time. As one reviewer noted, the safety fence can easily be removed, but I shutter at the thought of removing a finger for that convenience. I think about my wife or that ocassional visitor; I can't predict the future, but accidents are always possible. I recommend keeping the safety in place.

Nothing complicated about it, but it is NOT a toy. It might be too large if the majority ... full review

"Great size and lots of guides for cutting and holding the paper in place" - by Kristin (Stillwater, MN)
I have been wanting a paper cutter like this for so long. You just can't beat the guillotine style. These are my personal preference over the paper cutters without the arm.

Likes
+ excellent size
+ lines for sizes and creating straight cuts
+ plastic guide by the blade to help hold and prevent cuts
+ clap to hold paper in place
+ good handle grip

Dislikes
- There is no lock on the arm

I love so many things about this paper cutter. I've never seen one with the extra plastic clamp piece to keep your paper in place while cutting. Also, I like all the lines and measurements on the board to serve as a guide for cutting. The plastic piece near the blade works great for holding the paper and preventing your fingers from getting too close.

The only downside to this paper cutter is that there isn't a lock on the arm. All other cutters I've ... full review
"Perfect for trimming home-bound books. Went through 350 bound pages with ease." - by LivingWell (Washington, DC)
This paper cutter works great. I got it for trimming hand bound books and it did a fine job on the first two books I trimmed the night I received the cutter. Both books were 8"x11" and over 350 pages each. It also worked well for trimming the binder's board for the books. I couldn't have purchased or built a traditional lying press and plough system for anything close to this price so this is an awesome solution for home bookbinding. Quality seems very good and I expect it it will work well for a long time.

"Light, convenient, works" - by Anne B. (Tarrytown, NY United States)
So far, this is working really well. I ordered some 8.5"x11" flyers for my acting business; which I need to trim down to 8"x10". I'm very pleased. It's easy to use, lightweight, trims cleanly -- much cheaper and more convenient than the traditional chopping block paper cutter. Big improvement over scissors, which tend to give cuts that aren't quite straight.

It wouldn't work for more than one sheet at a time, tho.

"Excellent" - by Amazon Customer
I've purchased several paper cutters, some cheap, some higher end. This one does exactly what any other paper cutter does. Great bang for the buck.

"Great cutter as long as you don't try to cut too many sheets at once" - by Eric
Good quality product. It came on time and in mint condition. Intelligently designed and simple in the best way. The only drawback is the cutting capacity. I've cut card stock on it and anymore than 5 or 6 sheets and the cut quality is destroyed. When over 5 or 6 sheets you get hairy edges, curved cuts and sometimes it doesn't even cut, just bends the paper. I understand that it is not designed for that type of cutting but the descriptions on most of the table top cutters are very quiet about capacity in an almost dishonest way. It seems that in the desktop guillotine market there is no middle or at least none that I could find. There's no 40 page capacity cutter. It's almost like it's either 2 or 200. If you want to cut 25 pages at once (i.e. making a quality magazine mock like I ... full review

"Perfect paper cutter... almost" - by G. Weatherwax (MN)
I purchased this cutter recently and was delighted with it in many ways. The heavy construction makes it very stable, the blade has very little horizontal play and stays up pretty well if you lift it high enough. It is also quite sharp and cuts beautifully. I love the design for the paper clamp which lowers the clamp as the blade is lowered, but just in front of it so it is firm when the paper is cut. And the paper guide is long and easy to fix securely. I also admire their design for the lock. It's not at all intuitive and it takes a little more muscle than some, which I think makes it fairly childproof. But I have rheumatoid arthritis and even I didn't find it hard to use.
However, I am a card maker, and I frequently have to cut paper to the eighth, or even ... full review

"Solid build and most important is it works" - by bugeater (Gretna NE)
Had this for about three months now. Works great and the quality is every bit it should be. Sure beats a plastic thing that called itself a cutter that I was using. Solid build. Cutting edge is nice and tight so for what I use it for it does not want to drift. My use is primarily trilling photos printed on photo paper with a pro level photo printer so if the edge is not correct the cost of the paper and printing is out the window. I have also used it some for paper and it will cut 10 – 15 sheets of standard printer paper with ease. There are lower cost options but I for one do not regret the quality I got with this purchase and I have used it enough now to say that.

"LOVE this cutter!" - by L
LOVE this cutter! After reviewing many different paper cutters from various price range I decided to go with this one. I wanted one that had a longer length for larger projects, but also was efficient. The cutter went through a TON of laminated sheets w/o a problem! Stayed sharp, cuts straight, ruled lines were great and straight as a guide, and I like how it feels heavy duty so it won't tilt when lifting the handle or shifting weight on the platform. The paper guide wasn't what I thought; it is removable and you just place it where you want. Doesn't slide easily in the grooved guide for it, but then again if it did then it wouldn't stay in place as a guide. I am very happy with this purchase and don't regret buying this cutter.
